Real McCoy
Produced by Duro-Matic Products Co., Hollywood, CA
The Real McCoy tether car was designed by the legendary Dick McCoy and was the first commercially available mite car which was not only complete and ready to race, but was also a very competitive tether racer requiring little or no additional work on the part of the owner.

Often considered to be an entry-level car for tether car competition, many mite car tracks established a separate class limited to Real McCoy cars which were either stock or minimally modified.

Introduced in early 1949, the Real McCoy tether car continued in production through 1955.

This example of the Real McCoy is one of the earliest models from 1949 and features a highly polished body and pan and is powered by the early 1949 "bump lug, shiny case" McCoy 19 race car model engine.

This car has been modified for competition, and was fitted with two-piece aluminum wheels from C-R Products, with an after-market front axle custom built for the Real McCoy.  Hornet Mite tires were mounted in the rear and C-R knife-edge tires were mounted in the front.
