Davis-Carlson Mite (s/n DC-16)
Originally owned by John Carlson, Chicago, IL
As a testament to the dominance of the Davis-Carlson Mite car, especially in light of the fact that only 24 of the cars were originally produced, consider the following.

In the ten-year period from 1959 through 1968, the AMRCA Mite class was contested a total of eight times at the annual AMRCA National Championship Races, and Davis-Carlson Mites won either the .19-Mite class or the .29-Mite class, or both, in seven of those eight events.

Further, John Carlson's personal Dooling 29 powered Davis-Carlson Mite still holds the .29-Mite class record today with a top speed of 129.81 mph established at the 1962 AMRCA Nationals on September 30, 1962.  And his personal Super Tigre .19 powered Davis-Carlson Mite still holds the .19-Mite class record today with a top speed of 100.55 mph established at the 1960 AMRCA Nationals on August 13, 1960.

The Davis-Carlson Mite (s/n DC-16) shown in the photos is John Carlson's Super Tigre .19 powered car which still holds the .19-Mite class record.

The is the only .19-size car which John Carlson built and raced which was not powered with a Hornet .199 model engine.  As the Hornet .199 was becoming obsolete, Carlson built the last of his .19-size Davis-Carlson Mites with the hottest model engine of that era, the Super Tigre .19 model engine.
