Davis-Carlson Mite (s/n DC-7)
Originally owned by Frank Kramer, Jr., Mount Carmel, PA
The Davis-Carlson Mite shown in the photos was originally owned by Frank Kramer,Jr. of Mount Carmel, PA.  Kramer was an active competitor in the PA-NY-NJ area and a frequent contributor to "Model Race Car News", the official newsletter of the American Miniature Racing Car Association (AMRCA).  He was also a vocal proponent of mite car racing.

The car shown in the photos (s/n DC-7) is powered by a Dooling 29 model engine, and is almost exactly the way that the car would have been received from either John Carlson or Red Davis.

As was standard practice for the Davis-Carlson Mites, the two-piece aluminum wheels were provided by C-R Products as were the 2 3/8 inch diameter knife-edge front tires and the 3 inch diameter semi-pneumatic rear tires.  Both the front axle and the pan handle were fabricated from stainless steel flying wire.

The fuel tank and the fuel shut-off are  John Carlson designs.  The hand carved wood body is also believed to have been fabricated by John Carlson, and is similar to several others which Carlson produced.
